 Disappointed by undue shipping delay for a reported in stock item August 18, 2010

Five stars for the quality of the product, which after borrowing from a friend, I ordered the same day for myself.
However, I have been extremely disappointed that this item, which was shown as being in stock, has not shipped, after more than three days since the order was placed. Current indication is that it will not ship until five days after order placement. I find that unacceptable.
I could have gotten it for somewhat less money, and probably faster, from other vendors, but I elected to pay a bit more to get it from Amazon, since they were thought to be a vendor of known quality. I guess I know them a little bit better now. Free supersaver shipping is of little value if it takes forever to start the long trip. The published delivery times for the various shipping options were thought to related to travel times associated with the delivery service. I did not recognize that Amazon might just sit on the order for five days before shipping it by the slowest delivery method.
I need this tool now. Had I known what I know now, I would have ordered from the lowest priced vendor and put the savings toward second day air shipment.

I was faced with what seemed an impossible task as part of a remodel. I needed to cut some stucco up against metal trim that couldn't be replaced. I used the fein grout removal blade, the stucco was gone and no damage to the metal trim. As part of the same job, I needed to trim the installation support under a door, any other tool I could think of would have damaged either the finished door stop or the frame the fein did the job without damage. The tool seems built for "industrial use," i.e., it's rugged and I expect it to last a very long time. My experience with other tool lines are what I call "home owner quality," by that I mean they will most likely work on the first job, the next is less likely. My Fein is a very recent addition to my tool collection, so I don't have much life time experience. But from what I've seen so far this is an excellent addition. The only draw back is the price, but in this case it's "you get what you pay for."

I give a 4 star to the tool, 1 star to blazes.
I could not believe how fast the blazes get dull, the price for replacement is scary, stay away if you can.
There are generic blaze available on internet, don't know if they are good quality, but for sure i'll never buy Feit's,
Greedy manufacturer, very good advertisement.

I'm very glad I bought the Fein MultiMaster Select. I was on the fence between the Fein, Bosch, or the Dremel...I'm glad I spent a little extra and bought the Fein, the shop I work for has a bosch and the batteries die very quickly. I'm also impressed with the amount of power it has, it makes short work of most cutting projects. The quick change for the attachments is a very nice feature also. I'm a cabinet maker/installer and this tool has proven itself to be invaluble on installs, I use it muliple times a day.

I bought my multimaster with several projects in mind. I needed to install a laminate floor in my walk in closet and redo many areas of caulking around the house. All I can say is WOW, I cut the door jams out in less time than it took to put on the blade. Very fine cut, great controllability. Removing caulking around the tub, shower and kitchen sinks was fast and clean. I dreaded that job and it was a piece of cake. I have many more projects and I am sure the multimaster will make it much easier. BTW, Amazon has the best price on all the blades, so look no futher.
