Excellent tool July 16, 2010 P.T. I am a finish carpentry contractor with over 30 years experience. The Fein (fine) tool, as we call it on the job is one of the truly great tool ideas I've ever seen. For those tasks it is suited for, well, nothing else will do. Every contrator I work with has one. One fellow bought a Dremel tool which is similar, not nearly as good a tool. One thing, all the special blades that come in the kits, I've never had a reason to use them. A couple of guys that purchased the Fein tool when they first came out only as kits, despite the serious price, still have unused speciality blades in the box. Buy the basic tool, buy lots of metal/wood blades and get some work done.
Check before ordering June 15, 2010 G. Sollie 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Just received my Multimaster. Much to my dismay, it wasn't the 250Q, just the 250. The difference? Quick accessory replacement with the 250Q vs. using an allen wrench to change the accessories on the 250. Just a "quick" note to check before you order. I didn't, but oh well, I'll live with it. I just have to make sure I don't loose the wrench. I've used this product before (borrowed someones) and I really like the strong feel and the way it does its job. Have fun!

PRO's
I built a retaining wall with wooden forms and poured concrete. I had a tough time finding a tool to cut the wooden forms in a very tight space and without having to dig away more dirt after the concrete cured. The "Fein Multimaster 250 Start" did not let me down. I was truly amazed with the power and versatility of this tool. It performed well above my expectations. Unlike a reciprocating saw, this tools does not require a huge amount of space to position yourself and make difficult cuts. I was very impressed with the long heavy duty power cord which came it. An extension cord was hardly need.
Con's
The cutting blades could be a made a little more durable. They are very expensive and I think they wear down much too fast. After extended use, the front of the tool tends to get pretty hot but, I used work gloves and I was fine.
Overall:
I think this is a GREAT tool. It is the starter tool and does not come with it's own carrying case. In the event I buy another Fein, I will opt for the latest model with the wrench free chuck system. I would definitely recommend this tool to my friends and anyone who is looking to get their project completed with great results.

I wanted this tool, but wasn't willing to pay the price for it. I found the same tool at Harbor Freight for $39 and it works great.
dependable tool February 17, 2010 Gilbert Bennett (Utah) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used this tool to change a few things in my home. It is very easy to use and very comfortable to work with. It did things that none of my other power tools would do. I had to move a wall stud that was already in the wall. This was the only tool that would do the job without ruining the finished wall on the other side. I did make one nick but that was from a screw that I didn't quite get out when I moved the stud. The project went quick with the tool. Its a great tool to use and I plan to do many more updates to my h ome with it.
